To configure bindings, first you need to set which APIs to use for keyboards/mice/other devices. DualShock 3 controllers are now also supported through direct connections, allowing LilyPad to directly access all pressure sensitive information. Other devices (game devices, certain extended keyboard keys, etc) are only available through DirectInput, except Xbox controllers, which can work through XInput as well. Only DirectInput provides support for more than 5 buttons on a mouse. DirectInput mode is pull-based while the other two methods are pushed-based. Raw mode distinguishes between multiple keyboards/mice under XP/Vista, but does not support horizontal mouse wheels and won't distinguish between right/left control/shift/alt keys (and doesn't work under w2k and w9x). You must set a keyboard API other than disabled if you want PCSX2/GS hotkeys to work. Windows messaging is the recommended mode for keyboards and mice, though any mode except disabled should be fine for most people. The modes are: Windows messaging, raw, DirectInput, and disabled. Mice and keyboards both have 4 input modes. It was easier than I thought. The input API sets the Microsoft input API LilyPad uses to read input. Installing PCSX2 from terminal reinstalled my old version and I did not had to change anything within RetroPie. I think that version 1.7.0 is not very stable. Gamepad is recognised and its inputs, too. Is there a way how to download older version of PCSX2 within RetroPie Setup script?ĮDIT: So I ended up installing PCSX2 using sudo apt-get install pcsx2 command that installed 1.5.0 version into my UBUNTU which works flawlessly. I can not even open lilypad plugin as before, there's just nothing. ![]() L2 R2 buttons are working in any other emulator except PPSSPP and PCSX2 where are really important. I found the gamecontrollerdb.txt file which is located in /opt/retropie/emulators/ppsspp/assets folder, but did not change anything there. I am not sure why, I had to remap L2 to L and R2 to R buttons in PPSSPP, but it is not the right solution. So I found out that L2 and R2 buttons are not working in PCSX2 and also in PPSSPP. It was a step back I think if you can not do it simply. In this case I'd like to reinstall the old version, because I know that it has much more options and it was easier to set up IMO. The problem is that my PCSX2 does not register R2 and L2 buttons of 8Bitdo SF30 Pro controllers. The file will then somewhat look like this: PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/snap/bin" You will have to run the tool as sudo so it can modify /etc/environment You can use a tool like this SDL2 Gamepad Tool to generate the config and add the generated mapping as a environment variable. Since editing this file with new configurations for your controller is probably not update save there is a way to add configurations via environment variables: There is a controller database for SDL2 where the emulator looks for valid configurations its called gamecontrollerdb.txt Actually with the current implemention it is impossible to rebind controllers buttons via the controller plugin GUI. Normally your controller should work out of the box and you dont need to rebind any keys. Controllers now get autodetected via sdl2. I have had the same problem a few weeks ago. The PCSX2 team has revamped the pluginsystem and in the process they changed how controllers are detected by the emulator. I appreciate your help, thank you in advance! ![]() I found old thread for ppsspp:, but at that script module_repo is missing. ![]() ![]() I found pcsx2.sh script in home/retropie/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/emulators, but I am not sure what to change in that file? How can I install it automatically - through retropie-setup script and installing from source? It is important, because I had not problems before and my gamepad was recognized in PCSX2 gamepad configuration (buttons turned red when I pressed them and I could map them without any problem), now only keyboard mapping is working, but buttons does not turn red as well when pressed. At this moment, I am using 1.7.0 version, but it is not working very well and I do not know why (I can not map gamepad, but it is working in-game, some buttons).Īt first I'd like to ask what version of PCSX2 was used in RetroPie on circa January-February 2021? I'd like to install older version of PCSX2.
